Mcleodganj to Triund Snowline Hiking ( 3 days)

An ideal trek for beginners, this can be attempted by anyone who is fit. It gives you a wonderful opportunity to get familiar with trekking and camping. It can be completed in 3 days or sometimes 2 days. The distance is less and the altitude is low, making it very comfortable.

DAY 1: From McLeodganj to Triund

Triund is a beautiful ridge with a wonderful view of the Kangra valley, with the Dhauladhar Mountains on all sides. Starting form Dharmkot, we walk through the forests. Rhodederon and devdar are among the many trees you will find here. Seeing butterflies, birds and cute little ladybugs on the way, we rest a while and then go for a visit to a nearby temple. The night is spent camping or if you want we can go to the one and only guest house, there. The altitude for this trek is 2975 m and the distance is 9 km.

DAY 2: From Triund to Snowline

The glacial lake Got at the base of a glacier is known as the snowline, which is our destination for today. The actual position varies according to season. We have lunch at the snowline and then we return back to Triund by evening. We will stay at Triund for the night.

DAY 3: From Triund back to McLeodganj

We start the return journey to Mcleodganj, after having a hearty breakfast and may take the same route taken to come here. Alternatively, we can go to Bhagsung temple and Bhagsung Waterfall, enjoy the beauty of nature there and return to Mcleodganj.

One of the easiest trekkings, this trek that starts from Mcleodganj is very comfortable for those who begin. Others may also enjoy the wondrous Dhauladhar mountain range. Anyone who is physically fit can undertake this trek, with ease.
