DAY 1: Delights of Delhi
We will begin this trip by a visit to the well-known landmarks of
Delhi. We will see the Lotus Temple, and the Qutub Minar, which is a 72 m
tower, built in 1193. It is still as tall and beautiful. We also visit,
Lotus Temple, a lovely Bahai house of worship which was built in 1986.
After this, we will go to Old Delhi to begin the food tour, which will
help you understand the rest of the journey. You will get to sample
about 15-18 varieties of different types of food, by visiting 10
different food stalls. During the food tour, we’ll visit Old Delhi,
Central and South Delhi. The food joints we will visit are in business
for many many generations and serving great quality food. We have a
joint 110 years old, and one which is 40 years old. You will love the
Indian delicacies such as samosa, Lassi, butter chicken, kulfi (Indian
ice creams) and lovely kebabs. You will also sample some more food
varieties. In Old Delhi, you will move through old lanes, which are
narrow and have a medieval touch. You will also see some old mansions,
markets which are centuries old , with thousands of people walking
there. Each lane is different with various commodities like spices, old
mansions, bicycles, cameras, utensils, clothes and much more. We will
also visit the Spice market. We, then visit a peaceful Sikh temple with a
unique feature. This temple has a kitchen which feeds more than 10000
people on a daily basis.
