TOUR ITINERARY

DAY1
Shimla
First day of this journey will begin by sightseeing in Shimla. We’ll walk in famous Mall Road and Ridge area. See the Church, Lakkar bazaar, Scandal Point, city market and enjoy the views and history of old summer capital of India during colonial British times.

Shimla – Sarhan 
We will start from Shimla in morning after breakfast and  drive towards Sarhan. On the way, we’ll cross Wangtu bridge and reach Sarhan  in evening for night stay. If we reach there early enough, we can visit the Sarhan bird sanctuary and Bhim Kali temple.
DAY 3 and 4
Sarhan – Sangla
We’ll spend two days in Sangla enjoying the sights of the valley, exploring apple orchards, nature trails and enjoying the simple way of life of local villagers.We can walk to numerous small rivers flowing through the area and relax on riverside. Spending sometime here will also help us acclimatise ourselves to the higher altitude of Spiti valley.
DAY 5
Sangla – Kalpa
Kalpa village is famous for it’s meadows and picturesque apple orchards. Reckong Peo is a small town which serves as district headquarters of Kinnaur district and is also the launching pad for most journeys into Spiti valley. Out hotel in Kalpa is nestled between lovely apple and cherry orchards and is a very romantic place to spend an evening in.
DAY 6
Kalpa – Tabo
We’ll reach Tabo next morning. Tabo Monastery is among the oldest Buddhist monasteries in India with an history of more than 1000 years. It’s specially famous for numerous priceless artifacts and Thanka paintings. The most famous one is Pillar of a  Thousand Buddhas. Tabo monastery is recognised  as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Entry of monastery is made of earthen walls and covered with beautiful frescoes. Total area of this complex is 6300 square meters.  The paintings on wall show different stages of Buddha’s life and tales from Jataka painted in signature Tibetan style. After this, we’ll visit caves in mountains nearby which are used by monks due to their solitude for to meditating and introspection. We can also visit Nako lake on the way and Giu with it’s mummy of a Buddhist monk.

Tabo – Dhankar – Pin Valley
We’ll drive towards Dhankar which used to ancient capital of Spiti when it was ruled by kings. Ruins of an ancient castle and a 16th century monastery are main attractions of the town. The town itself is on top of a high mountain which overlooks the entire valley. Dhankar lake is a walk of about 90 minutes from there.Pin valley is a picturesque place with numerous small streams and exotic birds and animals.
DAY 8
Pin – Langza – Hikkim – Komic – Kaza
We’ll drive towards Kaza, the capital of Spiti and pass through Langza, Hikkim and  Komic. Koumik whose main attraction is the deposit of ancient fossils  in Langthis Natural Fossil Center. Later, we will visit Komic monastery, which is one of highest monasteries  in world as well as another ancient monastery near Hikkim village which was destroyed in an earthquake in 1975.

DAY 9
Kaza – Ki – Kibber –  Chandratal
Next morning, we’ll drive on Kibber road visit Ki Monastery located at an altitude of 4120 meters. We’ll trek around  it and see the huge collection of ancient manuscripts and paintings stored in the complex.  Ki monastery belongs to Gelugpa Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Later, we’ll drive towards Kibber village (4250 meters) which is among the biggest villages in Lahaul Spiti region. Area nearby is  a great place for clicking pictures of wildlife .We’ll reach Chandratal lake in evening to enjoy the sunset over crystal clear waters of the lake. Night stay in campsite.
DAY 10
Chandratal – Manali
Manali is around 7-9 hours drive from Chandratal depending upon traffic and road conditions. We’ll pass through landmarks such  as Batal, Chotta Darrah,Gramphu and Rohtang Pass on the way. Rohtang Pass is one of the highest motorable passes in India and is famous for it’s stunning views. We’ll reach Manali in evening to rest and take a walk around the forested area and old Manali enjoying the ambiance of this beautiful town.
DAY 11
Manali
This will our last day in Manali. It’ll be spent taking relaxed walks and sightseeing. Walk around the bazaars and visit landmarks like ancient Manu temple and Hidimba Temple. In Indian mythology, Manu is considered as the first human to walk the earth. In afternoon visit Vashistha Kund and relax your tired legs in warm springs. The water there is considered to have therapeutic properties. Relaxing in those therapeutic baths will be an apt way to end this journey.
